Pumper dedicated to long-serving member

Geoff Weedon has served Mernda Fire Brigade for the last 41 years. Geoff has seen some of the best and worst of Mernda throughout his volunteer career, attending countless house fires, car accidents, community engagement events and even black Saturday fires in 2009.

Mernda is saddened as Geoff takes on his new adventure CFA Beveridge Fire Brigade. Mernda Fire Brigade recognised Geoff and his significant contribution to Mernda & surrounds after a ceremony dedicating a truck to Geoff and his service.

On the day as well, the inaugural John Gower Firefighter of the year award was presented to Connor Jackson for providing a great culture and displaying outstanding firefighter qualities.

Mernda thanks Geoff for his 41 years of service to the brigade and the community and wishes him all the best in his new journey.
